Dinosaurs (from Greek deinos terrifying + sauros lizard)
are a group of extinct carnivorous (meat-eating) or herbivorous (plant-eating)
reptiles of the Mesozoic era. They ruled the earth for about 160 million
years, until their mysterious demise 65 million years ago.
Dinosaurs came in all sizes. The largest ones may have grown as long as
150 feet and weighed as much as 85 tons. This would have made them approximately
10 times heavier than today's elephant. The only living creatures that grow
that size today are a few types of whales.
Journey with us into 'The Raptor's Domain' to find out how they lived and
possible theories to their extinction. We have also provided links to some
dinosaur games for your enjoyment, as well as valuable resources.
